- Read Galatians 5:7-15. Make notes and write down any questions you may have about the passage.
- Galatians 5:7 says they were running a good race. What do you thing Paul saw in the Galatians that made him say this? Reference verses from Galatians that support your point.
- In Galatians 5:7-15, what does Paul give as an example of disobedience to the truth?
- What would be the truth they were disobedient to?
- Read 1 Corinthians 15:1-11. Beyond just the words, what are some of the truths of the gospel or assumptions that should be obeyed? (One example: though the words don’t spell it out, the scriptures are our authority)
- Read Galatians 5:13-14. According to these verses, what are the temptations associated with this new-found freedom?
- Read Leviticus 19. In light of Galatians 5:14, what was the purpose for these commands?
- According to Galatians 5:13, how can we tell when our desire not to be legalistic produces results not pleasing to God? Give some examples.
- Read Galatians 5:15 and Hebrews 12:15. Make notes on anything that comes to mind as you read these.
- How would the negative things in these verses affect the person who is doing them in their desire to run the race well?
