In his sermon last Sunday, Ed asked us what our picture of a Christian looks like. He asked, "Is it someone who used to believe one way and now believes another? Is it a person who has learned how to live a better life? Is it someone who goes to church and does all the religious things?"
Read John 3:7 and Revelation 22:13.
In John 3:7, the word "again" comes from a Greek word which means "from the first" or "from the beginning". It actually means "the beginning born in you", according to Dr. Jack Hyles.
Now read Colossians 1:27.
Jesus said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life".
John 3:15 promises eternal life.
Is the new birth a change of nature, or is it the nature of Christ Himself entering into us?
Last Sunday, Ed reminded us that we are a new creation. He said regeneration is when the Holy Spirit comes into our lives and gives us a new life.
Contrast: Galatians 5:19-21 with Galatians 5:22-23
Romans 8:7 with I Corinthians 2:12-14.
Realize the newness of you.
Share that with someone and give glory to God.
Consider Galatians 2:20 as you ponder the above.
Remember the Hymn "Were You There When They Crucified Our Lord?" If the Eternal now lives in you, does your mind allow you to say "I created with Him; I was tried with Him; I was condemned with Him; I was crucified with Him; I arose with Him?". If so, praise the Savior.
Describe to someone else your regeneration experience, including where and when it happened, how you felt, what you did, what you saw, and any other aspect of that miracle.
