| Leadership Qualities: Above Reproach |
- Define “above reproach.” Write down how you would explain it to your friend at work if they were to ask the question, “What does this mean, an overseer is “above reproach?”
- The pastor suggested this trait was the major quality and that all the other items on the list just fleshed out the idea of “above reproach.” What are your thoughts on this?
- List some people you have read about or known who seemed to take pride in their sinful behavior.
- If a Christian were to do what these people did, what would be your reaction? The reaction of people in the community?
- Look at the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Write down any observations you have about Zacchaeus.
- If you had been in his community, how would you have responded to his promises? If he had followed through, what impact would that have made?
- Do past sins make it impossible for a person to ever be “above reproach?”
- Is there anything you need to make right that you feel free to share? Please do not say anything that would embarrass or put others in a bad light. But if you want prayer or suggestions on a plan of action to make things right, share with your group.
