Noah: A Good Example Of A Father
Genesis 6:9

Read John 1:13, John 1:12 and Romans 8:14.

If you are not the father you wish you were or did not have the father you wish you had, God offers His perfect and loving fatherhood to anyone who will accept the gift of adoption by trusting Christ and yielding to be led by the Holy Spirit. Is God your personal father?

Read John 20:17 and I John 3:1.

You must admit it is possible to be a father but to not have an intimate relationship with one's child. In what sense is God your personal father?

Read Romans 8: 9, 14-15.

Is God the father of everyone?

Read Colossians 3:21 and Psalm 60:11-12.

According to John Piper: "The world says: Don't discourage a child; build up his self-confidence. The Scripture says: Don't discourage a child; build up his God-confidence. In fact the Scripture is more precise than that. It teaches: Don't discourage a child, but do your best to root out his self-confidence and replace it with a confidence in God. And when it teaches us to root out self-confidence, it means root out the desire to be and to appear self-confident." Discuss how this concept challenges your child-rearing skills and plan.

Read Luke 11:11-13.

There are times when our father will appear as if He is callous and unloving. Does a person have to beg God to receive His Holy Spirit? Ask God to show His Spirit plainly in your life every day to remind yourself to make your day worthwhile. How is your day going?

Do you really believe that what you believe is really real? If what you believed was wrong, how soon would you want to know? What is your truth concerning raising children? How does it differ from others'?

Read Matthew 7:11.

If God is your Father and he loves you, and you can never think of anything that He will forget, why should you worry?
