Read Psalm 2:7, 1 Chronicles 17:11-14 and Hebrews 3:5-6.
Jesus' most important descent is from God the Father. Consider some of the meanings of this fact, the most wonderful of which may be in I John 5:20.
Read Psalm 34:8 and Job 23:12.
Three people are regarding an apple pie with a slice missing. One says "That is not a real apple pie"; another says "That apple pie will not taste good, so I will not eat any", and the third person, who has eaten the slice of pie, is full and satisfied. Discuss this analogy as it relates to the word of God.
Read Genesis 3:15, Galatians 3:16 and Ephesians 6:10-12.
Consider that Christians must live in the knowledge that God has provided them with the most powerful weapons for combating unbelieving worldviews—weapons such as truth, righteousness, the Gospel, faith, and prayer. Who are the leading opponents in this great spiritual battle (See Gen. 3:15)?
Media Bias: The media states that Christians are losing the culture war, and are irrelevant. Christians have taken action. They boycotted Disney World because of its pro-gay policies and because of vulgar films produced by the Disney subsidiary, Miramax. Disney officials said the boycott would make no difference, yet its stock soon tumbled. Disney recently began heavy pro-family advertising, promoting their cruise line, a new theme park, and new family-friendly films.
Other victories:
Abercrombie & Fitch (the heroin look, promiscuity), Benetton (ad campaign featured real-life death row inmates - Sears dropped their clothes line), Ford (dropped their gay-friendly stance), Amazon.com (was selling a book that promoted pedophilia), just to name a few companies.
Why won't the media cover conservative and spiritual events and victories?
Read Hebrews 6:18.
Consider that this hope is external. Our hope is something that we flee to for refuge, and this hope has entered behind the veil for us. Our hope can be in God or in Jesus or in salvation, in God's promises, in His Word, in His grace, or in the resurrection from the dead. Can you name any other sources of our hope? Consider how our internal hope is motivated by these aspects of the external hope.
Read Psalm 17:5 (KJV) and Proverbs 3:6.
What is the condition for the promise here that God will go before us and remove many of the obstacles from our path? He wants us to be successful, so if we trust Him and follow His instructions, He will lead us forward, sweeping many of our potential problems to the side. What does it mean to you to acknowledge Jesus in all your ways?
